How CBD Works in the Body

Homeostasis. Even if you don’t know what the word means, I bet that just by looking at the word, it seems like a good thing. But just in case, that’s not enough, let’s evaluate it first.

Dictionary.com explains homeostasis as “the tendency of a system, especially the physiological system of higher animals, to maintain internal stability, owning to the coordinated response of its parts to any situation or stimulus that would tend to disturb its normal condition or function” or ” a state of psychological equilibrium obtained when tension or a drive hs been reduced or eliminated.”

Now that does sound sublime, doesn’t it? Hold onto that thought for a moment.

Our bodies have an endocannabinoid system. This system regulates… well a whole heck of a lot in our bodies. You may not have heard of the endocannabinoid system. I certainly hadn’t heard of it until I started learning about CBD oil helps us. Rather than go into detail about the ECS, I’m just going to link over to an article (here) where you can really geek out on what it is. To keep it simple, CBD interacts with this endocannabinoid system in our bodies to bring the body into homeostasis.

And this is important, because the endocannabinoid system regulates so many different systems in our bodies and can affect mood, sleep, appetite, memory, inflammation, pain and many other issues. CBD oil helps to bring the body into homeostasis so if you’re struggling with axiety, studies suggest that CBD helps. Or, if you are struggling with insomnia, CBD may help. CBD oil (or hemp oil) may help with any of the systems that the endocannabinoid system affects.

I want to clarify here that I am not making any specific claims. But I do want to share with you what I have learned after reading mountains of articles on the topic of CBD and hearing from our customers and from taking CBD, myself. Many of our customers have reached out to us to let us know how much better they sleep at night since they have been taking CBD or how they feel less stressed.

Personally, I have noticed that my rosacea is much better since I have been taking CBD hemp oil regularly. Before, I struggled with bad breakouts due to the rosacea. Now, my face is clearer than it has been in a long time. But I haven’t found any articles that discuss the affects of CBD on rosacea. This is just one personal experience.

The fact is that no one can make claims about what health issues CBD cures or treats because not enough research has been done. And, the FDA hasn’t approved any claims for what CBD does. For decades, the government has tied the hands of society. Propaganda has been spread relentlessly to deter the use of CBD. What we know today is that CBD can have a positive affect on many health related issues and that everyone’s experience is different.
